For those of you like me who have not downloaded and tested Firefox 2.0 because of plugin incompatibility, there is a temporary fix (finally!).

There is an extension now available called Nightly Tester tools which allows you to force the application to believe an extension is compatible with the current version and enable it. This thus allows you to use the older Firefox plugins until it an upgrade is available. I did read that it works great on Windows and not Mac OS. I didn’t find anything about it working in Linux.

Firefox update: Mozilla has just put out their FireFox 2.0 Release Candidate 3 tonight, bringing the official launch of version 2.0 closer to reality.

Woo exciting! I’m happy with my current Firefox so I’m not itching to see the new one. It’ll be good to check it out when it’s released though.

Did you have trouble with bookmarks being imported in 2.0? I uninstalled and reinstalled because a)my bookmarks were deleted, thankfully I had the backup and b)I couldn’t import the bookmarks from the saved file.

It’s been smooth sailing for me with Firefox 2.0 release candidates. In fact, I’ve almost migrated away from Safari completely. (What pretty much sealed the deal for me is how Netvibes runs more smoothly in Firefox. Big Netvibes fan.)

What I do wish the new Firefox had are 2 Safari features: Snapback and how Safari handles PDFs.

Where do we send our wish list for Firefox 3.0?

Kris: i have been itching to download and install firefox. not sure how i have lasted this long.

Beth: can’t help you there as i haven’t installed firefox 2.0 yet. it is on my to-do list now that this plugin is available.

TheWriteJerry: that is good to know that with how firefox 2.0 is performing. a wish list for firefox 3.0?… just curious- what would you ask more? not sure i have a wish list as everything i want is already incorporated in the new browser. i have to check out netvibes.
