Mozilla’s Firefox Beta 2 is out (coincidentally the same time Windows Vista’s Beta version is as well). You can download it from here. I made a conscious decision not to upgrade or test it yet due to incompatibilities in some plugins that I currently use a lot. Wired has documented the improvements on the latest release.

Tina (Recommended) had an article a short time ago about a Mozilla backup program . It backs-up bookmarks, extensions, maybe themes. If one wanted to test the Firefox 2 beta version for a couple of days you could easily back-up the previous version and go back to it when you wanted. I might do that, I’d be very interested to see what the new one holds.

I’ll wait until the official release…

If I had a spare machine to “Trash” I would prolly test everything on the planet, alas “I have no Spare Machne”…

I already have a backup program, session restore, improved tabs, and many of the included features (i.e. with Firefox 1.5 loaded with plugins) - so I won’t be getting a browser that is much different from what I have now. However, the inline spelling checker is particularly interesting as it would help with blogging especially with wordpress.

Do you have any idea what the situation is with extensions? I know this is just a BETA, but I have been holding off on installing it because I just can’t live without Stumble Upon and a few others. heh.

I don’t have any news about the extensions - have to just keep checking on Mozilla’s site. Yes that is other reason why I have been holding off as well - because I can’t live without some of the plugins I already have installed. I am pretty sure that the developers are updating it right now but probably won’t be out until much later. Stumbleupon is great - found a lot of cool sites that way.

Thanks for renting from me this week. Wrote an intro about your site, hope it sends you some traffic. Wish I had time to be more of a techn-geek, really get into it when I have too.
    Fare thee well,
    Blage
