Being a “leftie”, I don’t often come across sites tailored to left-handers, yet alone one that is well designed and informational. So I was delighted to stumbleupon a great site called LEFThandSIDE.

The LEFTHANDSIDE collection was created by MARCELA RESTREPO (Colombia) in November of 2003 intending to bring together talented left-handed artists and designers that are actually spread arround the world.

A site that has won various design awards and featured in several national newspapers, it has good links to handy leftie stuff, nice art painted/designed by left-handers, a fairly good community list of left-handers and more. The neat thing about the site is that all links and site frames are on the opposite site of the page from what you are used to (i.e. it has a left-handed orientation).

That’s interesting. Here I was thinking that left-handed art and right-handed was the same and websites were uni-directional :P
I like the picture on the front about scissors. I always have trouble with nail scissors, unless they’re very expensive I just can’t cut the nails on my right hand cleanly!

I think the lefthanded site is pretty neat and “different”. I have to order a lefthanded scissor as it hurts my thumb when I use a normal one for an extended period of time. Not sure how we lefties can combat the paper smudging (without lifting the whole arm) when we write with (fountain) inkpens instead of ballpoint pens. I hate normal ballpoint pens!
