Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and shopped themselves silly on Black Friday. Our Thanksgiving dinner was without J’s mom and dad as they had a bout of food poisoning which was unfortunate … we missed ya! Seems like every Thanksgiving dinner is incomplete without someone spilling something — there were 2 spills, sparkling grape juice in a plate of cut turkey and on the table/floor. That made the turkey a little flavored and doggie had some Turkey day wine.
I tried to get the Xbox 360 for $100 offer @ 2pm EST on Thanksgiving day but I couldn’t even get on Amazon.com to buy it. It probably sold out within 2 minutes of the sale, considering there were only 1000 units for sale at the price.
Watched Casino Royale on Friday and although I had initially expressed reservations on the new blond Bond, I have to take it all back as he was excellent in the role — I’ll go as far as to say that he may be one of the best one since Sean Connery. Didn’t think they could pull off having James Bond without Q and his usual stupendous gadgetry but they did it — and very successfully indeed. Couple of things I felt that went against Daniel Craig as the new Bond was his height (he seemed a little too short to be a Bond) and his pouty mouth. The Bond theme song is also one of the worst ones yet.
The weekend has been a relaxing one, although I am not looking forward to the long drive home later today. We do miss Miles, as he was left home with a petsitter. I also hate the later half of Sundays as it edges closer to Monday (the day of the week I hate the most).

hehehehe I KNEW you couldn’t wait until Monday to post. This blog thing is addictive, isn’t it?! I’m so sorry to hear that the in-laws were sick. “Bummer” doesn’t quite do it justice.
I also hope that the ride home is a good one and that you have good weather and no troubles. And also that Miles hasn’t been peeing on the bed all weekend in protest of your departure. I think some cats (me included) have this way of saying, “Oh, yeah. So there!”
Happy holidays!

I still haven’t gotten around to see Bond, damn it.
Saw the Tenacious D movie today though. I give it a B. Uneven, but if you are a fan there are plenty of laughs.

Welcome back. I don’t know how long you were gone but it seemed that everyone stopped blogging over Thanksgiving. Missed yous all!
Bond still isn’t out here yet. By worst song, which ones did you think were bad? I actually liked Die Another Day (Madonna) I’m not sure why, I guess it’s so catchy.

Well, we couldnt get over how “bad” James was. Wasnt the classy guy — too rough around the edges. Nearly got dizzy from all the jumping and chasing in the first scenes.
I noted the intense stare and the pout. I could just hear the director saying “more pout, more pout”! No doubt will be spoofed on Saturday Night Live or some such show.
I loved how he recovered so quickly from the poisoning.
I wish they would have used the music from the original Casino Royale.
Wonder who played Peter Sellers part? :-)

PS, the “Stare, Pout” look reminded me of some Carol Burnett skit.

Angela: haha… yes just couldn’t wait till Monday to post. miles didn’t pee or so I believe he didn’t.
Mr Fab: will have to see that one to comment. you gotta see bond!
Kris: You’ll find a good song list from all bond films in this post by MC from Culture Kills. I liked the old Shirley Bassey ones the best but I guess I am old school. The madonna one was catchy but somehow not a bond type song though. A Bond song needs to be classy not catchy, techno and hip. This current one seems like it was put together at the last minute, it was all of the place, very disjointed. The graphical renditions and animations also reminded me more of austin powers than james bond - they could have done a better job in the intro. Luckily the actual movie wasn’t bad.
janvangogh: didn’t like Bond huh. he was a little rough around the edges but somehow had that suave appeal to me. you are right about the jumping and chasing in the first scenes. But the stare and the pout must go! yes, look for it to be spoofed many times on Sat Night Live, Leno, Letterman and many more.
