Haven’t been this excited over a movie in years. Finally my all time favorite Marvel superhero is making it to the big screen and it looks mighty fine! You know where I’ll be on May 2nd, 2008.

“Heroes aren’t born, they’re built”

Interesting trivia from IMDB:

# In October 1999, Quentin Tarantino was approached to write and direct the film. Later, Joss Whedon, a big fan of the comic book, was in negotiations to direct the film in June 2001. In December 2004, Nick Cassavetes was hired as a director, with the film to release in 2006, but everything fell through. Finally, Jon Favreau was hired as director.

# Nicolas Cage and Tom Cruise were interested in playing Iron Man. Cruise in particular was going to act in and produce the film.

I totally have to admit I was excited to see this finally coming out. It’s been a long time coming.

I wasn’t sure at first if Robert Downey jr was a good choice until I saw the previews. Yeah, I think he’ll do just fine. I’m not sure if Tom Cruise or Nicholas Cage would have been any better. I think I like Nicholas Cage as ghost rider better. :D

But yeah, I’m so ready for this movie. I’m totally excited for Wolverine too. I love the wolverine. :D

i think nicholas cage would have been too laid back and tom cruise’s overacting would have made it too fake. he would have wanted too much money anyway which would have been at the expense of the movie special effects and other stuff.

Oh that’s totally I agree! Tom does do a little bit of overacting doesn’t he. He does have some great movies though!

Tom’s role is more to serious type action films… humor is not his strong point. He is not good enough an actor to pull off a movie like this where the lead actor needs a mixture or humor and seriousness in him. And yes, no matter how eccentric he his, he does make some really powerpack films e.g. Mission Impossible.

Yeah Wolverine would be worth watching. I think it’ll be next year till it gets released as i believe it is still in production.

yeah, you’re totally right. Tom is definitely not one for the comedic roles. I think Robert Downey is just about perfect for this.

And I believe either 4th quarter 2008 or next year for wolvie. can’t wait. :D

Iron Man was practically flawless as a super hero flick; it drops pretty obvious hints that would indicate a sequel as well… i’m thinking the next one should be equally great
