Nightlight Productions, the makers of the FireFTP, a FireFox FTP extension (which I happen to use almost daily) came up with this factual page. It shows you (in real time), the number of births, deaths, deaths from cancer, heart disease, infant deaths, suicides, mothers dying in childbirth, murders, imprisonments, rapes (reported), abortions, marriages, divorces, orgasms (per second), neurons fired in your head, chemical reactions in your body.
The page is called “God is a number” and although he says it doesn’t serve as a reference, he has done some pretty good research from several sites. Very surreal!
For those non-geeks out there, 01101101 is the binary version of the alphabet “m”. The only significance I can think off is that it is the first letter of this brilliant programmer’s name i.e. mime ?uvalo.
