Amazing how a [1] Formula One (F1) racing car consists of over 10,000 components, requires 4000 drawings and accuracy to within a 10th of a millimeter. This is innovation and car technology at its best. Billions of dollars are spent by racing teams to optimize their engines and create a better/faster designed car. The results - faster and more exciting racing on the tracks and indirectly, that technology eventually reaches our commercial cars. You can see that technology today with anti-lock brakes, traction control, functional buttons on your steering wheel, etc. The reason being that well known car brands like Renault, Honda, Mercedes, Toyota, BMW, Ferrari make up the core of the F1 paddock. I wish I was in London so that I can visit the [2] Formula One: The Great Design Race exhibition at the [3] DESIGN MUSEUM currently on display.
