Now the game is on! Formula One racing has been pretty boring in the last 5+ seasons as it has lost its attractiveness with one team dominating all the time i.e. mostly Ferrari with Michael Schumacher. When it comes to a situation where I don’t even have Formula One programmed in my TIVO and I don’t even bother to check the newspaper to see who won … through lack of interest - you know that Formula One has lost that edge of excitement for me. This is coming from a die-hard fan of Formula one in the late 80s and 90s.

Last season was a refreshing change with the World Champion coming from another team namely Benetton, a likable/ modest Spaniard in Fernando Alonso. I must say that the now close point gap (11 points) and “two horse race fight to the finish” for the world championship is making my heart pump and yearn for the excitement of old namely the Senna-Prost, Hill-Schumacher, Senna-Mansell duals that were classics in the 80s. Although this rivalry might not should not be put in the same sentence as those mighty classic duals/ rivlaries (yet) … it is at least coming close to an exciting fight instead of a boring one predictable championship. Come ‘on McLaren and Williams - pull your socks up and lets make this Championship and the future of Formula One more exciting by winning some races yourselves.
