As reported by [2] The Register, the open source community is in a state of shock at the news that Microsoft has acquired Firefox and [3] released a Microsoft version of the popular browser Firefox. The audacious move, which pretty well guarantees Redmond control of the entire browser market, will be received with dismay among those who previously believed that the might of Bill Gates’ checkbook could, and should, be resisted.
