OMG, I adore this poem. It's framed in my guest room upstairs. (Yes, I am now well off enough to have a guest room. Woo Hoo!) We had a conversation going yesterday about how people rise to positions of power, and one of the top three things that crossed my mind was just sheer tenacity.

Sometimes it's hard to think about continuing on, and I am a firm believer in taking a periodic rest and not pressing, pressing, pressing all the time. BUT, life will always be filled with challenges, so it's just better to take those darn lemons and make some sweety sweet lemonade! (Not that I'm always so chipper about it, sometimes it's just suckage.)

I LOVE this poem, I've got it posted at my site too. I go back and read it whenever I need a little kick in the pants to get re-focused.

Tep: this is definitely a good poem to remember!

WriteJerry: lol... you're too funny.

Bean: Good luck in your smoke quitting goal! yes, the "don't quit" poem may need little rewording in your case ;-)

Hey I like this one too. It's the flip-side to my "be bold" philosophy. Once you've been brave enough to take the first steps, you gotta see it through. I'm quitting smoking today so this is a good one for me (though the "don't quit" bit might need some imaginative rewording ;)

I only made it halfway through that.

Did it say anything important?

Hey, I know this poem! My English teacher made us memorize it when I was a senior in high school. It's a really nice poem, isn't it? :)
