I love Knight Rider and K.I.T.T. (although I didn’t really like David Hasselhoff too much). Here I am reliving my childhood memories again… I read today that Knight Rider may make a comeback in 2008 with a movie called Knight Industries 2000.
Gizmodo reports how the Koenigsegg CCX may be a good alternative to the old original Firebird and to keep up with the futuristic theme. One commenter mentioned Ryan Seacrest as a replacement to play Michael Knight as he has that cheesy fake Hasselhoff demeanor - I have to agree, but he is way too short and I don’t really see him as the athletic type. Jalopnik’s article “Who should populate the Knight Rider Movie?” had some humorous/ interesting responses … Ben Stiller, Tom Selleck, Will Smith, Ashton Kutcher (in a modified Honda), Ben Affleck, Matt Damon were some of the names mentioned to play Michael Knight. Someone actually mentioned Natalie Portman too!
I also knew that there were replica kits for Knight Rider conversions to Firebirds but never really tried to look on the web for them. Amazing what people come up with. Cool beans! Sad, but I may be tempted to get one in the future. I can just see how the wifey would take that one!

I really liked this movie.
V for Vendetta is a movie that is an “uncompromising vision of the future” from the creators of The Matrix trilogy.
The movie is about a masked anarchist called V (Hugo Weaving), set against the futuristic landscape of totalitarian Britain where the government is cruel/ corrupt and where curfews are in place. V is a bitter, revenge-seeking, lonely and violent man driven by a personal vendetta and a quest to “free” the people of Britain by trying to unite them to fight on a very special day … November the 5th – Guy Fawkes Day.
Pink Panther: I “tried” to like this movie but it just didn’t impress me at all, it was one that was funny at times but it got quite annoying after a while. It was also one of those films that made the mistake of showing all its funny parts in previews (like the scene where Inspector Jacques Clouseau was trying to learn how to speak like an American). The movie centers around a soccer coach who has a big diamond ring called The “Pink Panther”, mysteriously gets killed and ole’ Inspector Closeau is sent out to “solve” the case - landing himself in America with supposely comical proportions.
Wolf Creek: A horror movie, based on a true story. The movie is set in Australia, about 3 friends travelling to a place called Wolf Creek National Park, where they spend time partying, hiking and surfing along the way. When they do reach the Park, things start to go horribly wrong when their car breaks down and a seemingly nice stranger mysteriously appears out of no where to help them - turning out to be their worst nightmare. It was a VERY SLOW movie, 3/4 of it comprised of the 3 friends hiking, driving, hiking, driving, swimming, partying, hiking again etc - scenes where they could have definitely deleted. The film was also “choppy” and very amateur like (reminiscent of “The Blair Witch Project”). When it did come to the actual horror scenes (the final 1/4 of the movie), it was somewhat gruesome. To sum it up, it is a “Texas Chainsaw meets Blair Which Project” type movie but with far less quality and appeal.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It shows the “negative”, “back stabbing” and “devilish” side of the glamorous fashion industry through the eyes of a wannabe journalist (Anne Hathaway); who knows nothing about the fashion industry and is hired to be the assistant of the ruthless Runaway Magazine Editor-in-Chief Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). The sequel to Christopher Nolan’s 2005 Batman Begins will be titled The Dark Knight.
Heath Ledger has indeed signed on to play The Joker in the film. Speculation has begun on the casting of the movie’s other roles. Phillip Seymour Hoffman has reportedly been offered the role of The Penguin, although it is said to be unlikely that he would accept it. According to BOF, in this film The Penguin will be tranformed into a British arms dealer/mob boss with designs on Gotham.” In the long running comic series, the character has been more of a gentleman villain. He may be a little older, but John McClane is definitely back in action, as Bruce Willis announced today that he will star in a fourth Die Hard movie next year with the subtle title of Live Free or Die Hard. And the next Die Hard in the Bruce Willis franchise is coming quick, supposedly set for release on June 29th. 2007, according to Variety, with production starting as early as next month. Die Hard 4 tosses its hat into what’s already been called “sequel summer” with Shrek the Third, Harry Potter 5, Pirates of the Caribbean 3, Ocean’s Thirteen, Spider-Man 3, Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer, Evan Almighty, The Bourne Ultimatum, and Alien vs. Predator 2 ALL scheduled to open during the summer months of 2007. Now we can add Live Free or Die Hard to the long list of Summer 2007 sequels. Continue Reading »
Glory Road is one of the best movies I have seen this year and it had to be on DVD. This is an inspirational “based on a true story” movie in the likes of Miracle, Remember the Titans etc. It potrays a true David vs. Goliath story about an underdog “unknown” basketball college team (University of Texas at El Paso) who beats the #1 ranked NCAA team (Kentucky) in the nation against all odds, racism and controversy. It was set in the 1960s where racism was at its highest, and shows how Don Haskins (who would eventually be a Hall of Fame coach winning 719 games) disregarded skin color and played “his best players”. Jet Li, one of the “true” martial artist left in this era has supposely made his final martial arts movie with “Fearless”. Star of American made movies like Lethal Weapon 4, Romeo Must Die, The One and Cradle 2 the Grave … Jet has said that he has proven himself and is ready to enbark on a “new chapter and challenge in his life”. His recent interview does indicate that there may still be life yet for him in action movies (i.e. he goes on to say that “action” movies and “martial arts” movies are two different genres). Is there going to be more than one Spiderman 3? You can count on it. According to Mr Spiderman himself Tobey Maguire at Comic Con ‘06 last Saturday, it is NOT going to be just only a trilogy and you can be sure that the next spiderman is going to be “open-ended”. Whether or not he is going to be Spiderman past the 3rd installment, that remains to be seen. They are going to have a hard time trying to choose Spiderman’s arch enemies as they are many classic ones e.g. Mr. Sandman, Chameleon, The Lizard etc. Lets hope they (Hollywood) don’t squeeze everything out of the franchise and spoil it. Hollywood has a habit of making good franchises bad.
