My time at the pet store (yesterday) didn’t start too well, when I had to chase down a sales associate to ask for something I couldn’t find at the pet store. He was laughing and walking around the store entertaining his girlfriend.
Me: Hi there, I can’t seem to find the litter locker refill cartridges.
Sales Associate: Ummm, what exactly is a litter locker?
I showed him the litter locker that was on display on shelf nearby. (Yes, I had to show a person working there where an item was)
Sales Associate: Ummm, isn’t that what you are looking for?
Me: No, that is the actual litter locker, I can’t seem to find the refill cartridges for them.
Sales Associate: Oh, lets see whether I can find them.
The guy proceeds to look around the same shelves that I had been looking at for in the last 15 minutes. He picks up a random item - happens to be a cat litter box filter. Duh!
Sales associate: Is this it?
Me: Maybe you might want to ask your manager where they are. I don’t think we are having much luck here.
Sales Associate: Ummm ok. I’ll ask my manager.
Manager comes around looking for the item. He seems to know where exactly it is.
Manager: Looks like we are out, let me check the computer for stock.
Manager checks it and sees that it is out of stock. It took all of 2 minutes to find that out.
Me: (Fuming and shaking my head) Ok, but I shouldn’t have had to waste 30 minutes for someone to tell me that.
Manager: Sorry for the run around, he is new. (referring to the sales associate that was dealing with me)
Me: Thanks for the help.
Something tells me that the new guy needs a lot more training around the store or he is not going to last very long there.

Nothing irritates me more than a customer service person who ignores you while they’re taking care of personal business.

Yeah, that guy had better shape up or ship out. (ugh that sounds so yucky when I say it.)
And wow, we need a litter locker. That looks awesome!

Kailani: I was fuming for the next hour after that!
Yoshi: yeah it really beats the scoop into a plastic bag method and the automatic cat litter box (tried that too and didn’t like it). No smell and clean. It’s kind of the diaper genie equivalent but for cat poop (of course). The refills for it cost $8.99 and last a little more than a month (with a once-a-day cleaning frequency).

Been there, I’m afraid! These people get paid to help, too bad most of them can’t manage it!

Life is too freaking short to have bad customer service!
Speaking about being bad,
I do apologize for delaying, but I finally put a post on my blog about your fabulous blog. I hope you get a bunch of takers! I put your “baby picture” in the post!

I am sorry that I didn’t know where the stupid litter locker thing was! Sheesh, I have only been working there a week and I make minimum wage. How about some compassion?!?!
The stupid sales associate
